360 video booth or classic photo booth: which to choose for your event

The differences between a 360 video booth and a classic photo booth: guest experience, output, space, cost and which event each one suits.

Updated 5 September 2026

A classic photo booth produces printed photos in an enclosed booth with a backdrop, while a 360 video booth films slow-motion clips around the group with a rotating camera and delivers them to phones within a minute. The photo booth suits people who want something to hold, the 360 booth suits those who want guests sharing the night on social media as it happens. They need similar space, but a 360 booth with operators and branding usually costs more and has become the most requested option at weddings and corporate events in recent years.

What each one does

A classic photo booth is an enclosure or stand with a camera and a backdrop: guests step in, pose and get a printed strip or a digital copy. It is a technology that has been around for years and works reliably.

A 360 video booth is different: a camera on an arm circles the group while they stand still or move, filming at 240 frames per second, and the result is a cinematic slow-motion clip with music and effects. In overhead systems like ours the arm hangs from above with no platform; in platform systems guests climb onto a base and the camera circles it at floor level.

The guest experience

At a photo booth the experience is quick and for one to three people: in, out, a photo in hand. At a 360 booth it is group-based and theatrical: up to 10 people, lighting, fog, bubbles, and the other guests watching the clip on the screen seconds later. That creates a queue, and the queue is part of the fun.

The output and social media

A printed photo is a keepsake for the fridge. A 360° clip is content that goes up on Instagram Reels and TikTok immediately, in vertical format, with the couple's name or the company's logo on it. For corporate events that difference is decisive: every share carries the brand.

Space and setup

Both need a few square metres and a socket. A classic booth needs about 2 × 2 m and a wall or backdrop. A 360 booth needs a clear 3.5 × 3.5 m area, 3.5 m of height for the overhead system, and a flat floor. Setup takes 60 to 90 minutes in both cases.

Cost

A simple photo booth without an operator is usually cheaper. A 360 booth with two operators, branding, a screen and unlimited sessions starts at Videobooth.pro from €750 + VAT for parties and from €950 + VAT for weddings. The comparison only makes sense package against package: operators, hours, delivery, branding.

Which event suits which

The photo booth suits smaller, quieter events or where the printed keepsake is the point. The 360 booth suits weddings with many guests, christenings with children and grandparents, birthdays that want to go viral and corporate events that want shares. They can be combined, but at most events one is enough, and the 360 booth is what couples now ask for.

The output is video. Guests can keep stills from the clip on their phone, but there is no on-site printing.
